Year ends with launch of new exciting projects!

As 2017 draws to a close, SUP is about to enter an exciting new phase.

Ride Scotland’s Horse Country kicked off on 11 December when Gowan Miller started work as Project Coordinator. Gowan is originally from Fife and has a background in agriculture, economics and sports.

The Eagles are coming….

We can also now confirm that SUP will host the South Scotland Golden Eagle Project which has funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, both Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway LEADER programmes and support from a wide range of partners including RSPB, SNH, Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Land and Estates and ScottishPower

Dumfriesshire East Community Benefit Group (DECBG)

SUP is working with communities in south Annandale and Eskdale who will receive Community Benefit Funds from both the Ewe Hill 6 and 16 Windfarms, built by Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) just above Langholm.

Where’s Wildlife in Ayrshire

Aisling Gribbin has been working for the Where’s Wildlife in Ayrshire project for the past year, during which the project has developed an excellent network of volunteer recorders across the Ayrshires.

Young People and Rural Transport

Scottish Rural Action is reaching out to young Scots to find out how the cost of travel affects them in their work, studies and personal lives.
