Mr Charles Strang standing as an individual member and John Thomson standing for re-election for a second term.
Cllr Ron Smith and Cllr Alister Geddes standing for election as group members.
6. Fixing of subscription rates for 2014
It is proposed that Individual membership rates increase to £20 and Group membership to £50 for small/local groups and £120 for larger/regional groups.
“Patron” membership will remain at a minimum of £500.
7. Appointment of auditors
It is proposed that the current arrangements are continued.
8. Announcement of election of Directors (if necessary)Following the formal AGM business there will be a series of brief presentations on work SUP have been doing including;
- Vyv Wood-Gee on develop the SW Scotland Coastal Path,
- Nic Coombey, Stephanie Miles and Chimwemwe Chagunda on Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere
- Pip Tabor and Ed Forrest on the Wild Seasons project

Dumfries and Galloway has over 200 miles of spectacular coastline and plays host to a fascinating array of natural and cultural opportunities from the salt marshes in the east to the beginnings of Scottish Christianity in the west. But could we do more to celebrate our heritage and to help stimulate the coastal economy?

Experience the natural and cultural wonders of the
Coastal Borders

Scottish Natural Heritage and the Southern Uplands Partnership would like to invite tourism business owners and their staff to a memorable day out to celebrate the launch of the Scottish Borders “Explore for a Day” itineraries. Explore for a Day Itineraries have been created for many regions of Scotland to help showcase each areas unique natural and cultural heritage sites. We invite you to join us on a day out exploring the coastal section of the Scottish Borders. The day will allow you to meet and network with fellow tourism providers from the Borders area and to experience some of the fantastic heritage sites to be found in Eyemouth, St Abb’s and Paxton.
We have an exciting day’s programme lined up that includes guided tours of the following: Gunsgreen House, Coldingham Sands, St Abb’s Head National Nature Reserve and Paxton House. To end the day we would like to offer you an archery taster on the Banks of the Tweed with the Ettrick Forest Archers. Throughout the day we’ll treat you to refreshments and a fantastic lunch made from local produce. SNH and SUP staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

People who live and work in rural Scotland are this week being invited to set the agenda for Scotland’s first Rural Parliament, which will take place in Oban, Argyll & the Islands in November this year. Scottish Rural Action, the body that is organising the Rural Parliament, is inviting everyone with an interest in rural issues to contribute their ideas for the themes that should be debated at the event, and the challenges and practical solutions that the Parliament should be addressing.
Research on rural issues indicates ten topics which may be considered priorities, including transport, broadband, housing, deliveries, community confidence and changing populations. The big question is, which of these do you think are the most important for the Scottish Rural Parliament to consider?
