A first for Galloway – European Dark Sky Places Conference, 20-22 September 2017
Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, in partnership with Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, will be hosting the first European Dark Skies Conference. The Conference takes place in one of the very best places to observe the night sky – Galloway in South West Scotland and in the heart of the UNESCO Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere.
Speakers from the fields of astronomy, environmental sciences, humanities, lighting design and planning, neuroscience and psychology, International Dark Sky Designations and tourism, will be presenting some of the latest thinking and research around Dark Skies and the need to protect and value them.
