This exciting partnership between SUP, NatureScot and Electrek Explorer was to deliver an app showing locations offering electric car recharging, plus offering suggestions for nearby places to experience nature. The Recharge in Nature project is a pilot covering the whole South of Scotland and part of NatureScot’s wider Green Recovery Nature Based Tourism Programme.
SUP Services Ltd tendered for this work in partnership with Ran Boydell, a local architect. Initially exploring supply chain issues in Tweeddale and funded by South of Scotland Economic Partnership, it has now been extended to cover the Scottish Borders and attracted additional funding from the Community Renewal Fund. Partners in the project include South of Scotland Enterprise, Borders College and Scottish Borders Council. The next stage will explore how to help more micro-businesses benefit from the massive retrofit programme that will be needed to get our housing stock to net zero.
On behalf of the South of Scotland Enterprise, SUP Services Ltd undertook the planning of locations, venue hire, equipment & technical logistics, site facilitation and report writing for 30+ public engagement events right across southern Scotland in 2021-2022.
Following Langholm Initiative’s successful community purchase of part of Langholm Moor, NatureScot required the organisation to have a Visitor Infrastructure Plan as part of its funding support requirements. SUP Services Ltd successfully tendered to undertake the work and ran a community consultation, key stakeholder interviews and desk-based research over a period of 8 weeks in 2021.
