About Us

Who we are

The Southern Uplands Partnership (SUP) is a rural development charity, started in 1999 by local people keen to keep the communities and countryside of the south of Scotland alive and healthy.

The charity spans the breadth of southern Scotland from Dumfries & Galloway in the west to the Scottish Borders in the east, and works with a whole host of people, groups, government bodies, agencies and councils.

The Rhins of Galloway Coast Path is now nearing completion and the new archway sculpture and seating along with new landscaping will soon be installed at the start in Stranraer by the old Harbour Master's building. Follow this page for further updates.

This Saturday (27th April), Biosphere-Certified Glentrool Hive is hosting a talk and exhibition on the Southern Upland Way and the history and future of the iconic coast to coast path. Come along between 2-4pm to find out about its creation, early years, maintenance and future!
